San Francisco Firefighter Veteran's Association recruits at NASCAR event
On June 24, 2017 at Sonoma Raceway, the SFFVA attended a veteran's employment fair during the NASCAR prequalification event on the Friday before the race weekend. It was a great opportunity for us to promote our department outside of San Francisco and encourage qualified veterans to join. Also present were representatives from Alameda County Sheriff's Office, PG&E, Sun Mountain Energy, and other public safety and construction entities. Featured at the event were several guest speakers who offered advice on how to transition from the military to a civilian career, as well as Naval reserve lieutenant and NASCAR driver Jesse Iwuji, shown above.
