Marines and Sailors come to Treasure Island for Urban Search and Rescue Training

Marines and Sailors came to the San Francisco Fire Department's Treasure Island Training Facility for Urban Search and Rescue training on Tuesday October 3, 2017. Instructors from local fire departments to include Alameda County Fire, Berkeley Fire, and San Francisco Fire (some of whom are part of the Veteran's Association) instructed the Marines in Sailors in such topics as lifting and moving heavy objects, cribbing and shoring, and concrete breaching. The San Francisco Firefighter Veteran's Association served a barbeque lunch at noon, and talked with the Marines and Sailors about possible future careers in the fire service. The day concluded with a competition between infantry Marines and logistics Marines in a confined space breaching competition. The logistics Marine team prevailed. A great time was had by all.
